About the Campaign
We have an urgent goal to raise $640,000 by April 2024. Your contribution will greatly help the Muslim community of northeast Edmonton to offer five times salaat, jum’ah prayers, get their kids educated in Quran and other Islamic studies through evening and weekend. The new masjid/musallah, Alfalah Center North, located in the rapidly growing communities of Northeast
Edmonton, will enable us to:
- Establish separate prayer areas for men and women.
- Create youth spaces with amenities like ping-pong tables and a fitness center.
- Provide a communal dining area for inviting non-Muslims for dawah and fostering brotherhood within the Masjid and the community.
- Run educational programs including a day school, evening madrassa, and weekend classes for over 200 students.
- Offer multi-purpose areas for meetings, halaqas, sisters’ activities, and youth programs.
- Operate a food bank to support less fortunate individuals in the North area.
Why This Is Crucial
- We have a unique opportunity to acquire a commercial space that already permits religious activities, including a church.
- This will fulfill the current need for a Masjid in the rapidly developing Northeast area.
- It’s rare to find a property with such zoning in the core developing area of Edmonton.
- Currently, there is no other Masjid within the 7 km radius in the far Northeast Edmonton area.
- This place will allow us to establish a Masjid/musallah, a day school, an evening madrasah, a weekend school, a food bank, family halaqas, youth programs, and much more
